Pocket Power Top Fight review

Here is a quick review of the enjoyable Pocket Power Top Fight!  Made by SEGA toys.

Woo, love it, it's like Beyblades from the 80s.  Or maybe more like spinning top from the dawn of time.  Which is probably what Beyblades are based on.  But they didn't have anime at the dawn of time.  Too bad for them.

Yes we will!!

Pocket Power G.I Supply review

Little review of the Pocket Power G.I Supply from SEGA toys, which is a rather cool army themed stationery set.  There are some wise words in that one!!

Pocket Power Thunderblade helicopter review

A vid review of the helicopter from the Pocket power line.  Goes by the name of Thunderblade.  Which I have always liked the sound of.

Pocket Power Baseball Game

Here is a review of the Pocket Power Baseball game.  It's just like the real thing!!

Wonder at my complete lack of knowledge about baseball!

Be in awe at how I manage to lose even THIS game in record quick time                            Against MYSELF!

Laugh as I cry having been reminded of failure at Baseball in school days.                           (that didn't actually happen)

VISIT www.pocketpowertoys.com and hopefully my friend will get something up there to see soon!

Pocket Power Indy Car Racer

Continuing my theme of the Pocket Power, here is the rather nifty and somewhat likeable Indy Car Racer.  It's small, flat and fits in your pocket.  Great for those boring board meetings with the boss.

May I suggest visiting www.pocketpowertoys.com if you have a hankering for some old skoolling Pocket Power needs.

Pocket Power Trick Squirt

Here is a quick video review of the Pocket Power Trick Squirt from SEGA toys, it is a small water pistol that fits in your pocket for those James Bond moments.  Shame about the bright orange colour.

gomu erasers. Cute and annoying.

Gomuhead

In my insane quest for glow in the dark stuff, I came across these little fellows in a local department store.  Having a look at the package I spied a bit of jibber-jabber about glow in the dark erasers.  Now having a bit of a thing for stationery, and combining that with my thing for glow in the dark, how could I resist?

Aarh, but all is not well  For there be a catch.

Out and about: Japan: Kingdom of Characters

Jap flyer

In the paper this little erm, expo I guess of sorts was advertised and it was about anime and manga characters from just after the end of the war until now.  So being a fan of many of the characters from those times, I headed off to have a look see.

It is held  at the  Gallery Central, Central Institute of Technology which is on 12 Aberdeen St Perth.  It’s open from 10-4.45pm on weekdays, 2pm-4.45pm on Saturdays.  Closed on Anzac day and Sundays.  It’s on now and finishes on the 3rd of May 2011.  Entry is free, so get over there to have a look!

It has a good coverage of major characters from the 1950s until the 2000s.  The cool thing is they have some wall pieces to read, and although not all-inclusive it manages a to cover a broad selection.  They also have some free standing statues kicking around the place.  A ‘life’ sized Ultraman ( !! ), Hello Kitty, Rei Ayanami (which is freaky when you see her proportions…) and a large but not life sized Gundam.

Pocket Power Rapid Fire Machine gun review

Carrying on with the Pocket Power festival I am going through right now, I have thusly completed a review of the Rapid Fire Machine gun that they made.  A nice piece of work this one, and indeed terrifying in the ability for loss of little yellow pellets.

Enjoy.

Pocket Power Survival Kit review, By Sega

A quick review of the Pocket Power toy which was made by Sega/Tyco toys in the late 1980s, which has a handy dandy little survival kit utility as one of the toys they brought out.

The concept was that all the toys came on a base and were small enough to fit into a pocket.  I kid's pocket I assume.  There is a wide variety of toys and some of them are quite clever, this is the first in a series that I will be looking at.

For other pocket power information, I suggest going to www.pocketpowertoys.com  Although currently a work in progress, it will be a cracker!!

Classic Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic Title
Wa ha ha ha!  Lazy time.  Here I have a video review of the Classic Sonic the Hedgehog from those good people from Jazwares.  It’s big and pretty damn cool!  So I will cut the rubbish and just say this “Get right into that video.”    More pics after the jump.  Enjoy!

Mmmm! hobby Nom NOMs!

I was trying to avoid putting up my gets post coz it could be boring.  But here is something that I am too excited about.  Transformers awesomeness and Masters of the Universe greatness!

Firstly the good one!

After my Transmetal Megatron broke while I was preparing him for photos, I found out he is prone to the dreaded GPS (Gold Plastic Syndrome), which means crumbly weak plastic.  What I didn’t realise is that it’s not only metallic colours that are prone to GPS, so I was thinking the metallic plates that form the Dinosaur were fragile.

No, it turns out the GPS plastic is the BROWN plastic that only happens to consist of, oh I don’t know, about 80% OF HIS ROBOT BODY!!!!!  So the Japanese one doesn’t suffer this, to get one cheap, I had to go onto Yahoo auctions Japan for a nice cheap one.  Which, as anyone new to eBay will know, auction sites are deadly, but I’ll get into that later.

I ended up finding a lovely “Kettou Beast Wars”  for the GBA and more importantly, a MISB Headmasters for the Nintendo Famidisk system.  From 1987.  Yes, MISB!  I thought the auction was telling me furfies, but blow me down, it i, with original seal and all.

More on them in greater detail later.

Next up, MOTUC joys.

Panthor for my Skeletor to ride against He-Man and Battlecat.  It’s HUGE!  and Fearless Photog!  Being a projectionist, I couldn’t resist this guy.  Love it!  The best part is, the story behind the character creation and he is silly enough to fit into the MOTU universe quite happily!

One Happy chappy I be!

Mortal Kombat 6 inch Raiden

6 inch Raiden Head
So after messing about and finally getting around to posting about the Lightning Fury Raiden, I have recently gotten my act together and have the normal version of Raiden photographed and ready to rock and roll.  Now, if I were slightly organised at times, I would have a video review ready to rock and roll, but until later I won’t.  So as a result, I am going to type up what I think and do a video review at a later date.

And here the video review be.  I still have a load of pics and blurb after the jump, so I thoroughly recommend having a look.

And thus we move forever forward towards the mighty 15cm of plastic that has formed a shape resembling Raidn from Mortal Kombat 9, I guess.  I am not entirely up on my costume advancement of the MK universe…

Lightning Fury Raiden!

Lightning Fury Raiden

The San Diego Comic-con, not only produced a furry Sonic the Hedgehog, it also produced a glow in the dark Raiden figure.  Ever since Scareglow, I have made it a little mission of mine to get my dirty little hands on any Glow in the dark action figures I can find.  And now I have Raiden from Mortal Kombat in a 6 inch sizing and made by Jazwares, who also do Sonic the Hedgehog figures.  So, beware, for I have now finished the introduction for

LIGHTNING FURY RAIDEN!!!
